I cant believe I just spent my entire morning selling post it pads :( We set off at around, lets see, 6? I was due to meet Michele at Toa Payoh Interchange at 7. When I came out of the MRT, (as in came right out and was walking towards the entrance to Macs from the interchange) Michele, the EVER so smart one called me to go back into the MRT. Cos that's where she said she wanted to meet. So I went back in as wasted money as a result:(
It was a REALLY long ride to Pasir Ris from TPY. When we finally arrived at CARE centre, which was holding the sale, we realised that we were just one of the many volunteers who came, I wasnt expecting THAT much. Shortly after, we found our groupings. I was in LIMA, together with Michele, Rui Sing, Caroline, Estelle and Qarissa. I hope that's how you all spell your names :/ Anyhow, they were all guiders so I would have felt really REALLY out of place (that explains why I decided against going for lunch later on) if it wasnt for Michele, who, fortunately, minus-ed one of the reallys'. We broke up into 2 teams of 3 people each, So I went with Michele and Qarissa. I know Estelle badly wanted to go with Qarissa but they were nice and sacrificed that desire till later on in the bus. :) Thanks guys.
Ok. Lets say I've met most of Singaporean culture. The gd and bad. The worse and the better. The worst and the best.
The gd: I met someone who opened the door and gave us 2 dollars after i've said something.
The bad: I met someone who said, " No not interested. "
The worse: The person said, "Dunwant dunwant "before I finished saying stuff.
The better: "Sure! w8 a moment pls! "
The worst: someone actually said, "Nobody home! "I felt like shouting back" OMG! GHOST GHOST!! "
The best : the post-its were $2 each. " Here you go! * Gives me $5* " no its ok I dont have change! ":D
It was a minimum requirement of $16 which each volunteer had to collect. We all managed it well eh:)
